Sample Descriptive Paragraph #2

Instead of giving you a sample paragraph, I will instead remind you of the basic structure of the paragraph:

Topic sentence
The (x building) in Pineville is/looks/seems/etc. (overall impression of the BUILDING – not the landscaping or grounds).

Major points
1. something about the building that supports your impression
2. a second thing about the building that supports your impression
3. a third thing about the building that supports your impression

Concluding sentence
Overall, the (x building) in very (impression that you had of the building).

(topic sentence) The (x building) in Pineville is/looks/seems/etc. (overall impression of the BUILDING – not the landscaping or grounds). (point 1) State your first point, and then explain it in great detail. (point 2) State your second point, and then explain it in great detail also.  (point 3) State your third point, and explain it in great detail.  (concluding sentence) Overall, the (x building) in very (impression that you had of the building).

Make sure that you clearly describe your impression and identify the building in your topic sentence and concluding sentence. Make sure that the entire paragraph supports that impression — otherwise, your paragraph has little chance of passing.
